The Current Projects.....
OCTOBER 2002 DEMA, Las Vegas, Booth # ? ;
Picture this: You've been wanting to advertise your dive shop, travel agency, manufacturing company, live-aboard, instruction services or product, but the high costs of television commercials has made you think twice.
At the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) Show, October 2002 at the Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, Boy Genius Productions will give you the opportunity to have your own, professionally-produced TV commercial for a fraction of the price you'll find in the broadcast marketplace!

The theme of the Boy Genius Productions exhibit in Booth will be "Dive-in Movies." Our "Dive-in Theatre" will be screening examples of our work, and we shall have a working movie set, right there in our Booth!
On the set, any DEMA participant can star in their very own, broadcast-quality, television commercial, with top-quality footage and original soundtrack! Choose from four 30-second and one 60-second spot. You provide the 10-second "tag," which we shoot live, right there on our DEMA "Soundstage!"
We supply the lights and camera, you supply the action!
Camera-shy? No problem! Boy Genius Production can provide graphics and professional voiceover!
Such a professionally-produced commercial creation would cost in excess of $850 in the television marketplace. At DEMA, yours costs only $250! Or just $350 for a 60-second spot! This DEMA Show Special includes one Beta-SP or 3/4" Broadcast Master (available in NTSC, PAL and SECAM formats), one VHS copy of the spot, and a complimentary Production Photo and Media Release.
Boy Genius Productions is an award-winning, full-service film and video production company, specializing in production relative to SCUBA diving and adventure travel. Our services have been utilized by some of the most highly respected names in diving, and our productions have been used on an international scale.
Our services were even in demand right on the show floor of DEMA 1999, in New Orleans! Spokespersons from PADI, Newton Boats and Divers Alert Network found themselves before our cameras in a promotional initiative of Sandals/Beaches Resorts.
Please accept our personal invitation to visit our exhibit at our DEMA Booth and see our unique, working set. At the very least, we can have a cup of coffee and talk diving! Tell us your story, and let us help you share it with the TV viewing public. It's easier, and cheaper, than you think!
"Team Genius" started the year 2000 in Bonaire and Curacao, where Paul Cater Deaton and frequent collaborator Dave Sebree helped the Habitat Curacao dive resort bring in the new year. The Dave Sebree Band, with Paul serving double duty as Tour Director and percussionist, blew the roof off the joint with a blistering concert performance of guitar-fueled jazz-fusion.
Paul and Dave took a moment during the concert to thank General Manager Albert Romijn and his exceptional staff for having asked us to create four promotional videos for the Habitat Dive Resorts in 1997 and 1999. You may recall that we won a Communicator Award for "Come. Explore. Habitat Curacao" in 1997, and one for "Come. Exlore. Captain Don's Habitat" in '99!
Paul and Dave just completed principal photography for The Dave Sebree Band's new "Head Over Heels" music video. Elements of the video were shot on location on Bonaire and Curacao, and in Dave's recording studio in Austin, Texas. The video will likely premiere on the Austin Music Network, where Paul is a director (he just can't seem to get enough)!
Paul will be in Houston 19-21 May for the SeaSpace show at the downtown Hyatt Regency. He will screen an unprecedented three films at the show, as well as conduct his very popular "Lights! Camera! Ocean!" workshop in underwater production techniques and guerrilla editing. Check out www.seaspace.org for the complete schedule.
Summer: Our recent expedition from Freeport, Bahamas, to Trinidad on AMAZING GRACE to produce a series of promotional productions for Windjammer Barefoot Cruises was not only productive, but rewarding. Many other projects are coming in, and in pre-production even now.
