"Port of Call"
Cruise ships prepare to depart Charlotte Amalie Harbour after a day on St.
Thomas. On heavy cruise ship days, the island's population can swell by more
than 20,000 people. Shot by Paul Cater Deaton during production of "The Treasure
of St. Thomas." |
| "Rhone Ray"
Guarding the bow of the RMS Rhone, this Southern Stingray was as big as a
saddle blanket. This 310-foot steamship went down in a killer hurricane in
1867. Photograph taken by Paul Cater Deaton during production of "With Respects:
RMS Rhone," available from Boy Genius Productions. |

"Orange Crush"
During a night dive off Saba, in 125 feet of water, this juvenile coney blends
right into its cavern of tubastrea. Shot by Paul Cater Deaton at Saba's famous
"Twilight Zone" during production of "Saba - Audience with the Queen." Available
from Boy Genius Productions, this film demonstrates why Saba is called the
Unspoiled Queen of the Caribbean. |
| "Good Morning, Statia"
Proving that, yes, he CAN get up early to get the shot, Paul Cater Deaton
captured sunrise over St. Eustatius while setting up for a scene at Saba's
airport during the production of "Saba - Audience with the Queen." At 1,300
feet, this is the shortest commercial runway in the world. All that's missing
is arresting gear for a carrier landing, "Top Gun" style! |
