One of Deaton's most recent films, "Curacao Calling!" made its debut last spring at the Boston Sea Rovers 44th annual film festival and clinic. The production showcases the island of Curacao, 35 miles off the coast of Venezuela, as an emerging diving destination. Her underwater color is apparent at dive sites like Radio City, the Mushroom Forest, and the wreck of the cargo ship Superior Producer. Topside, Curacao is equally colorful, presenting such sights as the Floating Market, and Dutch-flavoured architecture. Her religious and racial tolerance is evidenced by her many places of worship, including Temple Mikve Israel Emanuel, the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. On the morning of 29 October 1867, she lay anchored in Peter Island's Great Harbour, in calm waters, under clear skies. Shortly after noon, she was gone. Join Paul Cater Deaton and the Boy Genius Productions Team as they "dive back in time" to the wreck of the RMS Rhone, which sank in a killer hurricane in 1867. Now part of a protected marine park, RMS Rhone is consistently rated among the best of all Caribbean wreck dives. Hear the chain of events which led to her sinking, and witness her resurrection as a world-class dive site and maritime memorial as we enter the 21st Century. We enjoy a glimpse of Tortola, then to Cooper Island for "the coolest surface interval in the history of SCUBA!" The haunting score is by composer Fred Mitchim.

"Saba - Audience with a Queen" takes a fond look at this charming little island in the Netherlands Antilles, and demonstrates why she is known as "The Unspoiled Queen" of the Caribbean. The names of some of her dive sites read like the marquee at a science-fiction film festival, with names like Twilight Zone, Third Encounter, Eye of the Needle, and Outer Limits. Topside reveals gingerbread architecture, an elfin rainforest, an artists' enclave, and more than a few moments of comic relief. Music by Fred Mitchim and Dave Sebree.

Premier dive sites around the most populous of the United States Virgin Islands are at the heart of "The Treasure of St. Thomas." The Boy Genius Productions Team explores everything from reefs to wrecks, tarpon to turtles, squirrelfish to sharks, and rays to morays. Dive the wreck of the WIT Shoal, the 400' sunken freighter considered "one of the best-kept secrets in the Caribbean." Get under the bubbles at such signature dive sites as The Tunnels at Thatch Cay, Cow & Calf, and The Pinnacles at French Cap. Dazzling underwater footage is augmented by Deaton's narration (liberally sprinkled with humor) and the music of composer Fred Mitchim.

With light hearts, and a couple of cameras, Paul Cater Deaton and the Boy Genius Productions Team visits the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire. "The Fresh Prints of Bonaire" focuses on the island and its international reputation as a mecca for underwater photographers. Hallmark dive sites like Ebo's Reef, Yellow Man, The Forest, and Town Pier yield a wide spectrum of themes, from animal behavior and human interaction to pure art. Topside is equally enticing, and our lenses are stimulated by the wildlife, scenic vistas, Dutch-flavoured architecture, and the Antillean people. Music by Dave Sebree, and Bonaire's own Kunuku Band.

CHILDREN OF THE CORAL
Co-produced by Paul Cater Deaton and his 10-year-old daughter Noelle, the captivating "Children of the Coral" gives schoolchildren a non-threatening first look at life and survival on the coral reef. We see what the little critters of the reef must do in order to survive the many perils of their environment. Growing spines, puffing up, camouflage, deception, hiding and running away are among the many defensive tactics demonstrated by the reef residents. Predators are presented in such a manner as to keep them from appearing "too" menacing. The frisky soundtrack by Dave Sebree helps to set the tone, and Noelle's narration allows her peers to see the film from the schoolkid's perspective. This collaboration with his young daughter makes Paul one proud daddy.
Says Deaton, "I'm delighted to see Noelle showing an interest in following in Daddy's finsteps!"
