When Underwater Filmmaker Paul Cater Deaton says that his business is "going under," he couldn't be happier about it.

An award-winning writer/producer, and NAUI Diving Instructor, Deaton started Boy Genius Productions in 1992, while living in the Virgin Islands. The company is almost exclusively engaged in television production relative to SCUBA diving and dive travel.

Boy Genius Productions enjoys a growing reputation as a leading producer of dive-related works. Productions include dive/travel programs for television, and marketing and promotional videos for an expanding international clientele. The company's services have been engaged by such diving resorts as Saba Deep, Captain's Quarters (Saba), St. Thomas Diving Club, Captain Don's Habitat (Bonaire), and Habitat Curacao. These productions have become centerpieces for the clients' marketing strategies. Some have won awards in production excellence, and all have proven to be highly effective promotional tools.

Last year, the production team traveled to Curacao, Bonaire, Saba, St. Thomas, Mexico, the Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands. Plans this year include expeditions to the Gulf of Mexico Flower Gardens, Bonaire, Curacao and Belize, with possible projects in Greece and other locations.

Our recent expedition from Freeport, Bahamas, to Trinidad on AMAZING GRACE to produce a series of promotional productions for Windjammer Barefoot Cruises, was quite fun and productive. Also, we expect to return to Bonaire and Curacao this summer, and pre-production continues toward our Belize project.
